Last night
I dreamed I was in heaven 
but you weren't  there 
and I was crying like a baby 
looking for you everywhere
지난 밤  
난 천국에 있는 꿈을 꾸었지요. 
하지만 그대는 그곳에 없었기에  
나는 아이처럼 울며
당신을 찾아 온 사방을 헤맸답니다 
And I saw waterfalls of light
stars that didn't need a night
somehow heaven wasn't right
without you
난 빛의 폭포와 
밤이 아닌데도 빛나는 뭇 별을 봤지만
천국은 아무 의미가 없었답니다. 
그대가 없었기에요.

Everyone I met was smiling
all sorrow gone

만나는 사람마다 미소짓고 있어 
모든 슬픔은 사라졌지만
내 마음 외로움으로 가득하여 
방황하였지요.

비록 죽음은 극복되었고  
영원한 생명을 얻게 되었지만
그 천국도 즐겁지가 않았어요.
당신이 없었기에요.

Then an angel stood before me
and to my shame
I begged and pleaded her to send me
from whence I came
천사가 내 앞에 서 있었기에
부끄러웠지만
난 간절히 애원했어요.
내가 온 곳으로 날 돌려 보내달라고요.  
Then all my sorrow flew away
when I heard the angel said
"If you left how could I stay 
without you"
천사가 하는 말을 듣는 순간 
내 모든 슬픔은 사라졌습니다.
"만약 그대가 떠난다면, 
나 어떻게 머무를 수 있겠어요.
그대 없는 이곳에요. "
